# Backend Engineer, Sync

> Keep every task, comment, and file in sync across web, mobile, and the tools teams connect.

## About the role

The sync team makes sure a change made on a phone in a train shows up on a laptop a second later. You will work on the services and data model behind real-time updates, offline edits, and integrations.

## What you will do

- Design and build APIs and background workers that stay fast under load
- Improve how we store, merge, and replay changes from every client
- Make integrations reliable, with retries and clear error reports
- Take part in a calm on-call rotation, one week in eight

## What you bring

- Three or more years building backend services in production
- Solid knowledge of relational databases and queues
- Care for observability: logs, metrics, and alerts you trust
- Comfort with hybrid work: two days a week in our Lisbon office

### Nice to have

- Experience with conflict-free data types or event sourcing
- You have run a service through a traffic spike
